WESTERN NEPAL
250MW AC
The huge demand-supply gap of between 500MW-700MW in electricity in Nepal during peak hours as well as during the dry season spanning December to May every year generates significant stress in energy demand for the country and presents a massive opportunity for enterprising and capable developers and independent power producers to supply much needed storage-based electricity from renewables to the country. Nepal has also entered into an agreement with India for energy trading, which allows the country to sell energy from eligible projects on the India Energy Exchange (IEX). Nepal has also agreed to sell renewable energy to Bangladesh under an operational agreement between the countries through a transmission corridor arrangement with India.
Terrasolve is working on Solar PV and Solar + Wind-based storage projects in Western and North-Western Nepal. The sites comprise locations with very heavy load centre and demand requirements as well as locations with some of the highest radiation levels.

As with other sites and projects in Nepal, Terrasolve is actively engaged to provide strong positive social impact to the local communities especially with access to education, social uplift, and child and women empowerment within the ambit of project economics.
